Could be interesting further if "normal pillz" were having random silly effects on both players... like a funny mustache on the screen, transforming unto a unicorn (seeing pink for the player), growing eyes (fisheye for player), paranoïa effect, black and white, you name it!

There's no guide to keybinds, or mouse buttons. I hit ESC and it just ends. There's no help or guidance nor a menu. at least Buckshot Roulette had that. Please fix this.

First round determains too much tempo, should have it contain 2 pills that do nothing, 2 that are -1 tolerance, and 1 that's -2 tolerance.

I love the unique take on Buckshot Roulette you have done! I would be very intrested to see where this game goes if you decided to further develop it! 


Dude amazing game however it be great if you could play on xbox series x microsoft edge browser. I get the error SBOX_FATAL_MEMORY_EXCEEDED 

If there is a way to optimize it for this that be great!

Bug: When the other subject has one life left and destroys the last good pill while the player knows both two pills left cause death they kinda just.. sit there-

played this with another game and it was so fun and tense! The character is really unnerving, the way their eyes roll creeped me out! I would love to play a longer version of this if that was ever something that would happen! Also, picking the wrong pill made me so mad haha 

Great game! Adding more visual/audio/music effect after taking different pills would be amazing

Honestly was a lot of fun in my short time playing, wish I picked up on the tolerance mechanic earlier but I will definitely be keeping up on the progress of this game, very intrigued for what the future has in store 

I think there's potential for Side Effects to present a fresh take on Buckshot Roulette type games but two things come to mind that I wish I saw:

1) Taking certain pills having some visual/auditory/gameplay effects

2) Balance changes. For instance in Buckshot Roulette, a new round of shots are made when there's only one guaranteed outcome (e.g. only live rounds in the gun). When there are multiple poison pills in play, I feel cheated by the game when I successfully avoided poison but now both of us got to take it

Randomly hit a softlock at some point, dunno what triggered the AI to just never take a turn, maybe it got confused with something or maybe some weird animation timings with prior actions are locking up the AI behavior. Dunno but I guess that means I’ve reached the better ending, we’ve both agreed to peacefully stop the experiment at the detriment of our employers.

Some other things to note:

BUGS

  • When duplicating an item, said item will retain the increased size from hovering over the item until hovered again.
  • AI locking up (suspicions are that if the AI duplicates any item that has been previously replicated, it locks up)
  • Pills can fall outside of the table! This makes it impossible the player to select in any capacity, thankfully, the AI is not bound by those rules so such a situation does not result in a softlock.

IMPROVEMENTS (I would like to see happen)

  • Duplicators can duplicate duplicators, this serves no purpose and doesn’t make much sense.
  • Players can get the same item 4 times in the item pick between rounds, I feel like the rng should be tweaked to not entirely be true random since that does create some… awkward situations.
  • Pill descriptions show the safety of the pill (if tested) or the odds listed on the original bottle of the pills, not the current odds, I’d prefer it to describe the current odds (~~not taking into consideration any tested pills, since safe pills make no distinction between placebo and healing pills~~ nevermind, the healing pills are green vs the normal yellow smiling face so I guess tested pills should be part of the calculated odds).

Might I make a small reccomendation; Have Pill combo's thrown into the mix cause different effect's As the rounds climb, I've noticed more and more pills are added to the mix to pick between.

Why not have the medicine act differently depending on the pill? Such as one Red + One Blue come supresses 1 death or causes the Green Pill to cause death after taking it; basically having medicine have a good reaction or bad reaction with each other.

Would very much like to see this be a mechanic of the game!

A must play for anyone who is into Buckshot Roulette or that similar style of gameplay, it has it's own unique style and gameplay that evolves how one would play and makes you strategize on what to use and how to use it and with only being a prototype I feel this game is heading in good directions!

I LOVED THIS GAME!! I loved the concept, the whole idea! Can't wait for more!!
